Right-click Start, click Run, and type this: explorer /select, filepath Replace filepath with the actual Lock Screen image path you copied from the Registry Editor in step 6, and press ENTER. That’s your current lock screen wallpaper image file path. If something makes the desktop window/explorer reset then that's probably not something intentional. Double-click landscapeImage and copy the path. Since Windows 11 is still not finished it also may not do this anymore when it gets released. This would make the transition less jarring so that's going to be the best that is possible if this is some internal Windows 11 change. However we already added a new feature to copy an image of the live wallpaper for the static wallpaper of Windows. Once done, again click on the menu, and this time, select Windows spotlight. Next, choose Picture from the Personalize your lock screen menu. Select Personalisation from the left panel, and then click on the Lock screen on the right. In any case, if this is a new Windows 11 behavior and outside of the program there is little we can do about it. Click on the Search button, type in Settings, and click on the most relevant result. It doesn't look like this comes from anything intentional that the program is doing itself, although you could still try resetting the whole configuration with the "reset" button in the settings to be absolutely sure of that. Like I mentioned, it's possible that Windows 11 simply overlays the static wallpaper for a moment or it even goes as far as making the entire desktop window reset. This is definitely not how the program behaves for me when unlocking the screen on Windows 10. You still had the option "laptop on battery" set to "stop" can you please disable this temporarily to see if this is somehow affecting it? It's just a very optimized scene wallpaper, this was the reason for the test. ![]()
